Biography:
Yassine Ayari is a Tunisian network and security engineer, activist, and blogger. He was one of the initiators of the Nhar ala Ammar (Day of Ammar) rally against censorship and Internet filtering that was supposed to take place on May 22, 2010. He has continued to blog and make videos following the revolution in Tunisia. He also created a petition proposing several changes to create a freer and more equal elections and society. Ayari now lives in Belgium.
Goverment Relations:
On May 21, 2010, the day before the rally, Ayari was arrested along with fellow blogger Slim Amamou. Security personnel forced him to release a video calling off the rally. Ayari was eventually released.
