Fouad Mourtada is a Moroccan engineer who created a fake facebook profile of the king's brother.

Within a few days, the fake profile was deactivated and on February 5th, he was arrested and held incommunicado for 36 hours before he was transferred to Casablanca’s Oukacha prison the next day. His initial arrest raised a great deal of concern in the Moroccan blogsphere. On February 23rd, Mourtada was sentenced to three years in prison for “usurping the identity” of Prince Moulay Rachid. This sentencing marked the first time a Moroccan had been convicted for an online offense. After spending 43 days in prison, Mourtada was released on a royal pardon.
