Petition to Drop Charges Against Tunisian Freethinkers
| April 4, 2012 |
On April 1, 2012, CyberDissidents.org Blogger Board Member Kacem El Ghazzali posted a petition on his blog, Atheistica:
Jabeur Mejri and Ghazi Beji, two Tunisians sentenced to 7 years and a half of imprisonment and a fine of 1200 TND (about 800 USD) for blasphemy and the publication of caricatures and writings deemed as disruptive of public order and against "morality". This case is extremely alarming and represents a real threat to the freedom of conscience and expression.
